Des MoinesEvelyn M. Dark, 92, passed away January 11, 2012 at University Park Nursing Home.
Evelyn was born December 17, 1919 in Des Moines to Emil and Anna Peterson. She was a member of Union Park United Methodist Church and enjoyed going on group trips with her friends from church. Evelyn loved to bake. She was also very crafty and enjoyed sewing, crocheting and needlepoint.
Evelyn is survived by her husband of 62 years, Lester; son, Duane and daughter-in-law, Deirdre Dark; sisters, Edna Johnson and Dorothy Clark; grandchildren, Danielle, Devon and Dianna and her husband, Jonathon Ross; and great-grandson, Nolan.
Per her request, Evelyn's body has been donated to the Anatomical Gift Program at the University of Iowa.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Union Park United Methodist Church.
