Robert Lee Larson, 85, passed away January 24, 2012 at Fountain West Health Care Center in West Des Moines.

He was born on a farm north of Britt, Iowa on December 16, 1926 to James and Laurena (Jensen) Larson. There were seven boys and two girls in the family.

Bob graduated from Britt High School and then went to California to work in the aircraft industry until he could afford to go to college. After college he worked as a civil electrical engineer for the Navy Deptartment, traveling on ships all over the Pacific. Bob retired to Iowa in 1987 to be near family. He was an avid stamp and coin collector. He was also a dedicated genealogist and created the Martin Larson website.

Bob is survived by his sister, Joann Muhm of West Des Moines, and brother, Glen of Downey, CA; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Dorothy; brothers, Bud, Jim, Merle, Cecil, and Jerry.

As per his request, Bob has been cremated and will be buried in the Larson family plot at the Britt Evergreen Cemetery. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
