MaryBelle Worthington, 82, passed away in dignity and peace on January 15, 2012 at Iowa Methodist Hospital. Born MaryBelle Coker in Melcher, IA on October 7, 1929, she was a lifelong resident of Des Moines and retired from the State of Iowa Department of Employment Services. She married Earnest Worthington on September 27, 1950.

MaryBelle is survived by her children, James, Penny (Michael) Monohon, David (Jeannie) and Kathleen Hayes; sister, Annette Keith; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earnest; infant daughter, Jacqueline; son, Kevin and brother, Andy Coker.

Her cremated remains will be laid to rest with her husband's at Chapel Hill Gardens at a later date. Memorial contributions may be directed to Animal Rescue League of Iowa.
