Richard Lorber, 89, died on January 27, 2012, at the V.A. Community Living Center in Des Moines.

Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m., on Monday, January 30, 2012, at Highland Memory Gardens in Des Moines.

Richard was born on June 17, 1922, in Burlington, IA to Edna (Grannemann) and Joseph Lorber. He married Priscilla D. Lorber on April 27, 1946 in Burlington. Richard was a US Navy veteran serving during WWII.

Richard will be missed by his wife, Priscilla D. Lorber; daughter, Paulette (Paul) Hartney; son, Richard Dennis (Corey) Lorber; and grandchildren, Christopher Hartney, Alison Hartney, Joseph Lorber, and Alexandra Lorber. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother and sister.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
