Nellie Mary Bane, 93, passed away Sunday, January 29, 2012, at Luther Park Trinity Care Center.

Nellie was born January 25, 1919, in Des Moines, to Darrell and Nellie (McCoy) Current. She married James Bane on August 31, 1940. She retired from American National Insurance Company in 1990, where she had worked as an office administrator. Nellie was a faithful member of Gatchel United Methodist Church for many years.

Nellie is survived by her son, James Bane; daughter, Christie Donaldson; brother, Chick Current; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James D. Bane.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, February 1, 2012, at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, followed by burial at Resthaven Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home. ~ Find A Grave and The Des Moines (IA) Register 31 Jan 2012.
