Ruth Marie Jacobs, 90, ended her journey on earth peacefully and was received by her Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 30, 2011.

Ruth was born on July 5, 1920 to Charley and Nellie Woods in southern Iowa. She was married to Delbert Wayne Jacobs, Sr. on September 7, 1939.

She is survived by her daughter, Margaret (Wayne) Ewing of Riverside, CA; sons, Delbert W. Jacobs, Jr. (Donna) of Burnsville, MN and Thomas V. Jacobs Sr. (Sandra) of Des Moines; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert; parents; and four brothers, Albert, Alvah, Elmer and Roy Woods.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at 12 p.m. at Hamilton's near Highland Memory Gardens funeral home, 121 NW 60th Ave, Des Moines, IA with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens. Family will greet friends Tuesday, May 3, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
