Cascade Pioneer, Published in Cascade, Iowa on Friday, November 8th, 1895

Nellie Wells and Huma Dickens, two colored girls 15 and 16 respectively, quarreled over a lover at Des Moines and Nellie drew a dirk and fatally stabbed Huma. Nellie was under arrest.
