Resided in Ankeny, IAEdwin C. Page, 95, died on Friday, May 6, 2011 at Millpond Retirement Care Center in Ankeny, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at Iles Funeral Homes-Westover Chapel with burial following at the Masonic Cemetery in Des Moines.
Ed was born on October 9, 1915 in Harwinton, CT. He graduated from Wilbraham Academy in Wilbraham, MA in 1936. He was employed in the hardware division of The Stanley Works in New Britain, CT and retired in 1980. He was a member of St. Paul Presbyterian Church and the Acanthus Masonic Lodge in Beaverdale. Ed loved playing golf with his friends at the Hyperion and playing cards with his friends at Millpond. Ed's special love was spending time with his family and singing to his children and grandchildren.
He will be missed by his children, Carol (Jim) Growden and Marleah Varian of Des Moines; Jane (Richard) Reuter of North Kingstown, RI and Mary (David) Loupee of Story City; daughter-in-law, Berni Page of Des Moines; 13 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marjorie Page; his second wife, Margaret Page; son, David Page; grandson, Joseph Page; sister, Frances Barber; and parents, Norah and Charles Page.
The family will greet friends from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, May 9 at Iles Funeral Homes-Westover Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Millpond Retirement Community for chapel needs.
