Veteran Street Car Employe Dies At 81
Charles E. Morgan, Succumbs in D.M.
Charles Emery Morgan, 81, former Ottumwan and 40-year veteran of local street car and bus systems, died at 7 a.m. Monday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Clara Klepfer, in Des Moines.
He is survived by his wife, Anna; one daughter, Mrs. Klepfer; two sons, Joe Morgan of Ottumwa and Herman of Genoa, Ill.; two grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; two brothers, James C. Morgan of Milwaukee and D.H. Morgan of Rock Island, Ill.; three sisters, Mrs. Bessie M. Musgrove of Ottumwa, Mrs. Lizzie J. Ballard of Ottumwa and Mrs. Flora E. Myers of Galveston, Texas.
Requiem high mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Catholic church at 9 a.m. Wednesday, the Rev. T.C. Donohoe officiating. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery.
