Ed. Welch, a passenger conductor on the Great Western Railway, dropped dead on the depot platform at Des Moines Monday of last week, just as he was about to start on a run. He was a brother of the late Will Welch of Cresco, and of Dan Welch of Minneapolis, and J. H. Welch of Calmar.
