J. W. Pieart died Tuesday at the home of his son, Earl Pieart, in Colfax. He will be buried in Mitchellville this afternoon. A full obituary next week.

John W. Pieart was born in Jackson county, Ohio, January 7, 1849, and passed away at the home of his son, Earl, in Colfax May 23, 1916, at 10:15 a.m. He had made his home in Iowa for the past twenty years. He was united in marriage to Mary Abrams in 1875. To this union seven children were born. Six, with the mother, are left to mourn his loss. The other died in infancy. Those left to mourn are Mrs. Joseph Wearmouth, of Mitchellville, Mrs. James Hanna, Mrs. Ben Brown and Earl Pieart, all of Colfax; J. S. Pieart, of Sioux City, and Mrs. Oscar Chandler, of Staunton, Ill. He also leaves two brothers and one sister to mourn, Mrs. Jane Vincent, of Atlantic; J. A. Pieart, of Crosby, Minn., and G. W. Pieart, of Mitchellville. Eighteen grandchildren survive him. The deceased had been ill only a short time with pleura-pneumonia. Funeral services were held on Thursday at G. W. Pieart’s in Mitchellville conducted by Rev. Palmer. Interment in Mitchellville cemetery.
