Sherri Cassady, age 47, died Sunday, May 1.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 4 at the Winterset Cemetery. Memorials to the family. There will be no visitation. Online condolences may be made to www.ochiltree.com.

Sherri Lynn Alexander was born on November 9, 1963 and was adopted by Eugene and Norma (Downing) Alexander. She grew-up in Winterset; graduated from Winterset High School in 1982 and graduated from Grandview. She married Roger Anderson and to this union two daughters were born, Jennifer and Laura. She later married Rick Cassady in 2005.

Sherri was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Winterset and she enjoyed Renaissance reenactments and Renaissance fairs.

She is survived by her husband, Rick of Des Moines; her daughters, Jennifer Anderson and Laura (Dylan) Whitson both of Des Moines. She is also survived by her mother, Norma Alexander; her sister, Debora (Harold) Kephart both of Winterset; a granddaughter, Rilie Whitson and four step-daughters, Jennifer Marchik of Iowa City and Lucinda, Samantha and Klarissa Cassady all of DeSoto.

She was preceded in death by her father and daughter, Alexandria. ~ The Des Moines (IA) Register, Tues 03 May 2011.
