Kimberly Rae was born June 11, 1959, in Erie, Pennsylvania, to parents Hileman and Evelina Grace Hoover. She died Friday, September 14, 2012 in Des Moines, Iowa.

Kim graduated from Pennsylvania's Harbor Creek High School in 1978 and received a B.A. in Psychology from Emory and Henry College and a Masters in social work from the University of Iowa.

Known for her helping spirit, Kim worked as a therapist at Central Iowa Psychological Services, as a social worker on the crisis team at Broadlawns Hospital and most recently as a social worker at the V. A. Hospital in Des Moines.

In 2006 she married T. Don Worrell, and they formed a close-knit family with Kim's three children from a previous marriage. Her interests included yoga, meditation, nature, being near water, good books, walking the family dog Tucker, telling Peter not to mumble, warning Eleni not to drive so fast, shooting rubber bands at Niki, telling her husband Don not to wear "those" orange shirts all the time, and spending time at Gray's Lake and the Greenwood Park rose garden.

She is survived by her mother Evelina Grace Hoover; her sister Carol Slocum; brothers Dennis and Doug Hoover; children Niki Maria Cade, Eleni Grace Cade and Peter Lahanas Cade; and loving husband Don.

She was preceded in death by her father Hileman Hoover and her sister Christal Ann Davis.

A memorial visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, September 16, at Iles Funeral Homes-Dunn's Chapel in Des Moines. Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, September 17 at Plymouth Congregational Church in Des Moines.

A second memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, October 13 at South Harborcreek United Methodsti Church in Harborcreek, PA 16421.
