In Office
~
(By the Associated Press)
Des Moines, Ia. Feb 8, - J. Jolly Jones, secretary of Za-Ga-Zig Temple, Mystic Shrine, and well known in Masonic Circles throughout Iowa, died suddenly in his office here today.

The recorder emeritus died shortly after beginning his duties at the temple this morning.

Apparently in the best of health and spirits, Jones arose at his customary hour, ate his usual breakfast and left for the office. The assistants at the Temple had no warning of the impending tragedy as Jones simply slumped over in his chair while at work. He died before medical aid could be summoned. Death was due to heart failure.

Funeral arrangement await the arrival of J. Jolly Jones, Jr., of Kansas City.

For the last sixteen years, Mr. Jones has been recorder of the shrine. He was elected to that office in December 1910.

His was a picturesque life, with his boyhood days being spent in the United States Senate as a page during the Civil War days. Friends of his were President Lincoln and all the well-known characters of the day.
