Florene L. Schroder, 95, passed away on May 3, 2011. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 7, 2011 at Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines.

Florene was born on August 25, 1915 in Stafford, Kansas to Flora and Mark Lantz. She married Alfred C. Schroder in Estherville, Iowa on February 28, 1937. Among life's greatest pleasures were her family, beloved cats, flowers, gardening, cooking and handwork. Her tenacity, strong will and amazing ability to cope were strengths admired by her family and all who knew her. She lived her long life with humility and grace.

Florene will be missed by her children, Allen (Sandy) Schroder, Norma Schroder, and Steven Schroder; three grandchildren; six great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and two nieces.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Schroder; parents; and two siblings, Marietta and Robert.
