EDWARD DEAN MOORE
Polk CityEdward Dean Moore, 84, passed away Thursday, January 8, 2009, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, January 14, at Ankeny Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Thursday, January 15, 2009, at Ankeny Funeral Home and burial with military honors will be at 3 p.m., at Washington Cemetery in Gravity, Iowa.
Edward was born September 5, 1924 to Edward and Marie Moore in Gravity, Iowa. He was a salesman for Iowa Packing Company. Edward was an elder at the First Christian Church in Albia, and was a member of Ankeny Christian Church after moving to Polk City. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Albia, and received his 50 year certificate. Edward loved to golf, barbeque, and converse with the guys at the meat counter at the grocery store because he could relate.
Survivors include his wife, Myrtle Moore, of Polk City; daughter, Carole Jensen, of Glendale, AZ; son, William (Margaret) Moore, of Mason City; Myrtle's children, Shelly (Steve) Thompson, of CA, and Robert Bauer, of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren, Christine, Daniel, David, Scott, Michael, Holly, Kelli, Jason, Jeremy, and Nathaniel; and seven great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Kenneth Moore.
