Capt. M. M. Marshall, aged 45, of Des Moines, shot himself fatally. Despondency, resulting from ill health, is the only cause given for the suicide. Capt. Marshall was general agent for the Chicago, Burlington, Quincy Railroad at Council Bluffs and Omaha for 15 years. He was a member of Governor Boies’ staff, and in Spanish-American War was captain of commissary in Cuba until peace was restored.
