Becky (Dorothy) L. Sheil, 84, died in Des Moines on February 11, 2013 surrounded by her family.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, February 13, at Plymouth Congregational United Church of Christ. Burial will take place at a later date. Becky was born February 21, 1928 in Des Moines.

She graduated from Lincoln High School. Becky was a homemaker and retired as an office manager. She was a member of Plymouth Church, Des Moines Pioneer Club and a Past President of the Des Moines Garden Club. Becky served on the Des Moines Botanical Center Board and the Iowa Landscape Architect Executive Board. She was a Master Gardener and loved to travel.

Becky is survived by her daughters, Sandra Sheil, Denise (Paul) Cameron , Donna Sheil , Janice Sheil, grandchildren, Daniel and Lisa Cameron; Sister Patricia Ridenour, Donald Sheil and Finn as well as many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Ernie and Alvin Beck; sisters, Elsie Brose, Kathryn Harvey, Laurene Ryan and Helen Knepper; and her parents, Arthur and Mamie (Bloomquist) Beck.
