Obituary
Debra J. McDaniel, 57, passed away on May 27, 2011 surrounded by her family at home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 1 at Iles Funeral Homes-Dunn's Chapel. Cremation will follow the service and a private family entombment will take place at Masonic Cemetery.
Deb was born in St. Louis, Missouri, July 14, 1953 to Betty and Maurice Hallbauer. She lived all her life in Des Moines, Iowa working first as a programmer at Farm Bureau and NICMIC. She has most recently run her own company, McDaniel Consulting, as project manager and consultant with QCI Co., the State of Iowa, and Wells Fargo.
Deb was a board member for House of Mercy, worked with Planned Parenthood and was a member of the Chat Ladies. She enjoyed great friendships with the Waterbury Circle, Owls Head and many cherished friends.
Deb is survived by her husband of 36 years, George; beloved daughter, Megan; niece and nephews, Courtney Bennett, Trevor Bennett and Travis Bennett all of whom she considered her children; her mother, Betty Hallbauer; sisters, Pat (Roger) McBroom, Kim (Matt) Millburn and Kelli (Randy) Homervold; and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom were very dear to her.
The family will greet friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 31 at Iles Funeral Homes-Dunn's Chapel, 2121 Grand Avenue, Des Moines.
Memorial contributions can be made, in lieu of flowers, to House of Mercy or The American Cancer Society.
