Betty Jean Gillespie, 90, died Sunday, September 16, 2012, at Fleur Heights Care Center. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Saturday, September 22, 2012, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street, with a private burial at Avon Cemetery. A visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, September 21, at the funeral home.

Betty was born March 5, 1922, in Des Moines, to Benjamin and Jeannie Cramblit. She enjoyed cooking and baking, tending to her roses, and loved going to Las Vegas with her Blue Cross/Blue Shield friends.

Betty is survived by her children, Georgena (Ron) Bird, Ransom (Bubbles) Gillespie, and Lorna (Frank Morano, Jr.) Gillespie-Sapp; her seven grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, George.
