Marcella Mae Kochheiser, age 78, passed away Monday, September 17, 2012, at Iowa Lutheran Hospital, surrounded by her family in a circle of love.

Marcella was born June 19, 1934, in Polk City, Iowa. She was the daughter of the late Edwin D. Lint and Bertha Crabtree.

Marcella graduated from North Polk High School in 1952. She worked for 40 years at the Polk County Bank in Polk City. Marcella was a member of the Ankeny First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Polk City Legion Auxiliary, Polk City Historical Society, and a member of the "Birthday Club". She enjoyed attending Senior Citizen lunches with friends.

Marcella was a selfless woman who lovingly overlooked the negative and focused on the positive. She chose each day to find the best in people. Her genuine nature, fun personality and kind smile rewarded her with many friendships. It was all the "little parts of daily life" raising and caring for her family that brought Marcella the most pleasure. She was an inspiring example of what really matters in life.

Marcella was united in marriage to Ralph Kochheiser on June 20, 1954. They treasured 55 years of marriage together before his passing in June 2010.

Left to cherish Marcella's memory are her four children. Daughters, Audrey (Neil) Ellis of Lakeside, Texas, Linda (Jon) Donahue, and Sharon (Mike) Kuchenbecker of Ankeny, Iowa. One son, Alan (Dana) Kochheiser of Omaha, Nebraska. Ten grandchildren, Marc, Mallarie, and Bailey Kochheiser. Andrew, Tyler, and Brandon Donahue. Katie, Jenni, and Justus Kuchenbecker and Nickalaus Stecker. Two brothers, Marvin Lint and Mel Lint of Polk City, Iowa.

Marcella was preceded in death by her infant daughter Nancy Kaye and sisters Alice Houser and Evelyn Easter.

With sincere love and deep appreciation we would like to thank Uncle Marvin, who devoted his heart and soul to caring for his sister Marcella over the last twenty months. His genuine love and thoughtfulness afforded Mom the opportunity to fulfill her dream and remain living on the farm that she and Ralph treasured.

A celebration of Marcella's life will be held at the Ankeny First United Methodist Church, 206 SW Walnut Street in Ankeny at 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 21, 2012. A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at the Ankeny Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00 p.m. where family will greet friends.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Polk City Historical Society or the Animal Rescue League in Marcella's loving memory. ~ The Des Moines Register, Des Moines, Iowa Thur 20 Sept 2012.
