Richard Shively, 72, died February 1 in Houston, TX of cancer. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 16, at West Des Moines Christian Church in West Des Moines.

Dick graduated from Valley High School in 1959, played football and graduated from Simpson College. Dick married Judy Adams Aldridge and they had two children: Christie and Tony. In 1984 the family moved to Houston, TX. He was divorced and married Elisa Gonzales in 1988.

Dick is survived by his wife, Elisa of Houston, his children Christie (Richard) Sproba of Houston, Tony Shively of Des Moines, grandchildren Megan and Mason Sproba and two brothers, Bob (Carol) of Osceola and Tom ( Leslie) of West Des Moines.
