Helen Marie Deal Burns passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on November 18, 2012.

Born in Collins, IA, on May 22, 1926, to Harold and Mabel (Kelderhouse) Deal, Helen married J.E. (Jerry) Burns in 1946. She retired after 25 years of service with Hiland Potato Chip Company. She enjoyed senior bus trips, crafts and bingo. Her passion was her family, and she loved shopping for her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Helen is survived by her children, Judy Burns, Dennis (Jan) Burns, Michael Burns and Theresa (Bob) Gathercole; grandchildren, Garrett Keeling, Iman (Kellie) Burns-Khan (Khalid Khan), Jennifer Burns, Jeff (Jessica) Gathercole, Lisa Gathercole and Heather (Cory) Ohorilko; seven great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband, Jerry; daughter, Bette (Don) Keeling; grandson, Robert Keeling; and special friend, Bill Parker.

Helen was a very special lady to all who knew her; and her sense of humor, wit and positive attitude will be greatly missed.

Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 24, 2012 at Easton Place United Methodist Church, 2412 Easton Blvd. Burial will follow at Glendale Cemetery.

For those desiring, memorials may be directed to Easton Place United Methodist Church.
