Alice J. Alexander, 83, died peacefully on November 26, 2012 at the Urbandale Health Care Center. Alice was born June 10, 1929 in Des Moines, Iowa to Alfred and Maude Porter. She lived her entire life in Des Moines. She married Gordon Alexander and worked for many years as a secretary in state government. Alice was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church.

She is survived by her son James (Kathy Byers) and many nieces and nephews and their families.

A visitation will be held 12:30 to 2 p.m. on Thursday November 29, 2012 at Hamilton's Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th St, Des Moines. The funeral will follow the visitation at 2 p.m., with burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Urbandale Health Care Activities Department.
