Cleona Fay STEPHENS-JACOBS of Des Moines, recently of Marietta, MN, was born February 11, 1943 in Clearfield, IA and died October 10, 2011 in Des Moines. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today, Thursday, at Illes Funeral Homes-
Grandview Park Chapel.

Cleona was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Vivian STEPHENS; husband, Alan; and one grandchild, James WHELCHEL. She was survived by her sisters,Leona (Hal) STEPHENS-MURPHY of Marietta, MN and Ann WYER (Marvin) of Martinsville, MO; sons, Sam DAVIS and Stephen CLARK of Des Moines, IA; daughers, Alisa (Jerry) PAYTON of Des Moines and Ruthann WHELCHEL of Cambridge, IL; and an abundance of grandchildren both natural and assumed.

She wanted it known that she loved the Lord with all her heart and that she loved her pets and gardening. Mom was compassionate, kind and loving to family and friends and had never met a stranger.
