Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 8, at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola. Visitation will be open on Tuesday, August 7, with the family present to greet friends between 5 to 7 p.m. Interment will follow services at Maple Hill Cemetery in Osceola.

A longtime Veterinarian in Osceola, Fred was very involved in the Iowa Limousin Association and was the founder of Hawkeye Ova Transplant.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara L. Wood of Osceola; daughter-in-law, Sara Wood (Howard Ruter) of Osceola; granddaughters, Jessica (John) Duffil and their daughter, Harper of Little Rock, AR; step-sons, Tim (Misty) Saylor of North Liberty and Jim (Kelly) Saylor of Tipton; step-grandchildren, Morgan, Robby and Summer; sister, Marge (Max) Faulkner of Osceola and brother, David Wood of Dexter.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be directed to his family for a fitting tribute to be established in Fred's name at a later date. Condolences may be left for the family at www.kalefuneralhome.com
