Tim Murphy, 65, found peace at home on Friday, July 27, 2012. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Des Moines.

Tim, son of Helen “Billie” and John D. Murphy, was born on June 7, 1947 in Des Moines. He graduated from East High School in 1965 and was a devoted “eastside pride” resident. Tim even met his wife Cindee on the loop in downtown Des Moines. After graduation, Tim joined the US Army and served in the Viet Nam war. He retired in 2004 from Super Valu as a Warehouseman. Tim enjoyed spending time with his family and friends; and was a member of Teamsters Local 147, the VFW and VVA.

His memory will be cherished by his wife of 46 years, Cindee; son, John (Patty); daughter, Jennifer “Tootie”; grandchildren, Courtenay, Abby, Lee and Matthew; sister, Linda (Dick) Blaze; nieces, Kim Harding and Michelle Harrison; his granddog, Bella; and many other family members and friends.
