George W. Cleveland, aged 81 years, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. T. L. Allen, 1721 Lyon street, at 12:45 today. Mr. Cleveland’s home was in Harrison county. He came to Des Moines on New Year’s day for a visit with his daughter and was taken sick on January 23rd.

Nervous trouble, together with old age, was responsible for his death. He leaves surviving him eight children, all of whom are married. All except Mrs. Allen live in western Iowa. The remains will be shipped Monday morning to Magnolia, Iowa, for interment.

Mr. Cleveland was for many years a minister of the Christian church, and was well known over the state, especially in Marion county.
