James Pierce Dies Suddenly at Des Moines

Des Moines, Nov. 1. – James M. Pierce, publisher of the Iowa Homstead died suddenly this afternoon. Death was said to have been due to heart failure. Mr. Pierce had been publisher of the Homestead for more than thirty-five years. He also published the Wisconsin Farmer and the Farmer and Stock Man. For several days he had been indisposed and had not been at his office for about a week. He was born May 9, 1848.
