Mae Griffiths Howard, 98, of 4614 84th St., died of a respiratory ailment Sunday at Quality Health Care Center. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Hamilton's Funeral Home. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Howard was born in Black Diamond, Washington, and lived in Des Moines most of her life. She was a homemaker and a 50-year member of Highland Park Christian Church and the Auburn Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, and she was a past matron of Auburn Lodge.

Survivors include two sons, Parkes of Sioux City and Earl of Des Moines; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Friends may call between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. today at Hamilton's Funeral Home.
