Robert Paul Peel
Mr. Robert Paul “Bobby” Peel Passed away at his home on Friday, November 7, 2003 at the age of 69. Bobby had spent the last 15 years in Ft. Myers Beach FL previously living in Des Moines. He had worked for the Des Moines Fire Department as a fireman and retired in 1985 as a Fire Inspector. Bobby served his country in the United States Air Force from 1953 to 1957 and was a member of the Eagles Lodge, American Legion and VFW. Robert lived his life to the fullest and on his own terms. Playing football for East High School. He loved sports and was a proud Hawkeyes, Cubs and Bears Fan. He adored his family and will be deeply missed by many.
Mr. Peel is survived by his wife Peggy A. Peel of Ft. Myers Beach FL; son SFC Fredrick Peel and wife, Trisha of Iowa City; daughters, Cary Kuhns and husband, John of Monroe, Dr Allison Peel and husband, Dr, Kraig Markland of Warren, Ohio and Courtney Quinn and husband, Gary of Dayton, Ohio, brothers, Tony, Leo, and Robert Zagnoli all of Des Moines; stepsons, Scott and wife, Kim mooers of Carlisle and Gregg Mooers of Norwalk; sisters, Della White, Grace and Clara Zagnoli all of Des Moines; brother-in-law, Dan Hurley of Pine Island, FL; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild, He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Evelyn Peel; brother, Joseph Zagnoli; and sister Marie Thoren.
Funeral services will be 10 a. m. Wednesday, November 12, 2003 at Arnolds Highland Park Funeral Home, Private burial of the Creamains will be held at a later date at Glendale Cemetery. Visitation Will be after 4 p. m. Tuesday with the family greeting friends from 6 to 8 p. m., A Rosary will recited at 7 p. m. Tuesday all at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Firefighters Memorial in Coralville, Iowa
