Ilot Ackelson, 81, of 1629 E. 28th St. died of a heart ailment Saturday at Des Moines General Hospital. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hamilton's Funeral Home. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Pleasant Hill.

Mr. Ackelson was born in Madison County and had lived in Des Moines most of his life. He had been a truck driver for the City of Des Moines, retiring in 1971. He was a member of Central Bible Church.

Surviving are his wife, Louise; two sons, Richard and Jack, both of Des Moines; two daughters, Carolyn Cowie of Des Moines and Margery Nelson of Springfield, MO; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Friends may call after 8 a.m. today at the funeral home.
