“Weldon Girl Selected Over Candidates From All Counties In State”

“Lois Keeler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B. H. Keeler of Green Bay township, was queen of the 4-H club state convention held at Iowa State College at Ames last week. She reigned at the corn festival which concluded the convention Friday.

The honor is a signal one. Each county in the state selects a candidate for this honor and the final selection is left to the convention. Election is based on personality, club work achievement, posture, appearance and popularity.

Lois graduated from Osceola High School with the class of 1933 and was popular in school circles here. Her many friends are pleased to learn of the honor accorded her at Ames.

Although she lives in Clarke county, the home being just north of the Decatur-Clarke county line, she belongs to the 4-H club in Decatur county.”
