CHARLES FOCHT
Des MoinesCharles E. Focht Jr., 82, of the 700 block of 27th Street died of cancer Friday at Mercy Medical Center. The body was cremated, and memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Dunn's Funeral Home.
Mr. Focht was a lifelong resident of Des Moines. He was a manager for Firestone, and a member of Grace United Methodist Church and Woodland Heights Neighborhood Organization. He loved jazz, gardening, barbecuing and was an avid reader.
Surviving are his wife, Mallie Sharp; a daughter, Lisa Focht of Plano, Texas; two brothers, Michael of Des Moines and Richard of Clifton Park, N.Y.; and two grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Hospice.
