BILL PEDERSEN, JR., Des Moines

William "Bill" Pedersen, Jr., 80, of Des Moines died March 19, 2011, at his home, surrounded by his family.

Services were held March 23 at Hope Lutheran Church in Des Moines, with burial at Highland Memorial Garden Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hope Lutheran Church or to the Hospice of Central Iowa.

Bill was born on April 20, 1930, to William Sr. and Lucille (Wallace) Pedersen in Grinnell. He grew up in Villisca and later moved with his family to Des Moines, where he attended North High School. He worked at Younkers in downtown Des Moines in their camera department for over 20 years, and retired from Ivy Photo. Bill loved fishing, photography, gardening, artwork and anything to do with aviation. His passion in life was for his family, with the love of his life, his wife Ann.

He is survived by his wife Ann, his daughters LeaAnne (Ron) Falke of Winterset and Sonja (Jon) Christofferson of Waukee, his sons Jon and Michael of Des Moines, his stepsons Dave and Paul Dawson of Des Moines, a brother Steve Pedersen of California, a sister Gloria (Jerry) Lang of Des Moines, 20 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his oldest son William Pedersen and stepson Mark Dawson
