Pg 1DESPONDENT OVER ILL HEALTH ENDS OWN LIFE
I. M. McKinney, Union Township Farmer Ends His Life by Hanging
I. M. McKinney who resides on the old Munger farm on the Patterson road, committed suicide on last Friday by hanging himself in a barn on his brother’s premises at Runnells, Iowa. The unfortunate man had been in ill health for some months past and failure to secure relief undoubtedly unbalanced his mind. A few days before his death, he went to Runnells, to consult a physician and was at the home of his brother at that place at the time the deed was committed.
He leaves a wife and four children. The oldest daughter is a school teacher at Runnells. He moved to this county about ten years ago, and purchased from Butler Phillips, the farm known as the Hadden farm a short distance northwest of Patterson. Having sold his farm last year, he moved this year to the Munger farm owned by Roy Potter. He was an industrious, upright citizen, well thought of by his neighbors. The deepest sympathy is felt for the bereaved family.
Note: Burial was made in the Lowman cemetery, Runnells, Iowa.
