Marjorie "Marge" Roberts age 93, of Perry, Iowa died on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at her home in Perry.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 2, 2010, at 10 a.m. at the Perry Bible Church in Perry, Iowa. Visitation will be Friday, October 1, 2010 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. with the family present from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Carris Family Funeral Home in Perry. Burial will be in the Violet Hill Cemetery in Perry, Iowa. Memorials may be given to Marjorie Roberts' memorial fund to benefit children at Christmas and may be left at the Funeral Home.

Marjorie Eloise Roberts was born on June 30, 1917 at Bridgewater, Iowa to Clifford and Grace (Darling) Sulgrove. She attended country school in Washington Township in Adair County, and graduated from Bridgewater High School in 1934. Following graduation she earned her teaching certificate and taught country school for three years. She married Gaylord Roberts on June 20, 1938 at Creston, Iowa. After their marriage they moved to Perry where she worked for Pick's Clothing. She then was a stay at home mom for several years. After her husband Gaylord passed away, she started working at Virginia's Ready to Wear and finished her working career as a billing clerk for Oscar Mayer in Perry, Iowa.

Marge was an active member of the Perry Bible Church. She was also a member in the Polyanna Circle. She was honored with Perry "Mother Of The Year" in 1990, and was a volunteer reader for the Perry Elementary School. Marge mostly gave her life and time to her family.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband Gaylord Roberts in 1963; son, Dennis Roberts; granddaughter-in-law, Kim Roberts; parents, Grace and Clifford Sulgrove; and brother, Merlyn Sulgrove.

Survivors include her son, Jerry (Hollie) Roberts, of Jefferson, Iowa; daughter, Marjean (Tom) Gries, of Perry, Iowa; daughter-in-law Jo Roberts of Perry, Iowa; sister, Lois Roberts of Algona, Iowa; grandchildren, Brett (Trish) Roberts, of Perry, Iowa, Casey (Kelly) Baldwin of Newton, Iowa, Jessica (Joel) Lown of Des Moines, Iowa and Jeremy Roberts of Los Angeles, CA.; great-grandchildren, Zachary, Hannah and David, of Perry, Iowa, and Reagan, of Newton, Iowa; nephews, Reg (Rolene) Roberts of Algona, Iowa, Rick (Linda) Roberts of Overland Park, KS, Les (Linda) Sulgrove of Des Moines, Iowa, Lon Sulgrove of Des Moines, Iowa; and many other nieces and nephews.
