Sarah Lana "Boo" Howard, 12, died August 16, 2010 at Methodist Hospital of injuries sustained during an automobile accident. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Friday at the First Presbyterian Church in Dallas Center. Burial will follow at the Masonic Cemetery right next to her home in Dallas Center.

Sarah was born on September 20, 1997 in Des Moines, IA, the daughter of Jim Howard and Patty (Reed) Howard and youngest sister to Jordan, Niah, and Maria Howard. She attended Dallas Center-Grimes Middle School and was an exceptional student. Sarah enjoyed playing softball, reading and writing, and being outdoors as much as she could. Most of all Sarah loved her sisters and brother and loved more than anything to be with her family. Sarah leaves them with so many memories of a sweet girl who had a great sense of humor and a sharp wit. She gave her family so much joy and was always able to make them laugh. We will miss you Boo and you will be our baby sister and daughter forever and always.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday at the First Presbyterian Church in Dallas Center. Memorial contributions can be made in her name to the Sarah Howard Memorial Fund at Raccoon Valley Bank in Dallas Center.
