Mrs. L. A. Hollowell of Des Moines died Sunday morning, February 22d, at the Methodist hospital after a short illness of peritonitis. Mrs. Hollowell formerly Katherine Weitz, was born March 7, 1864, eight miles west of Des Moines, where she lived until her marriage December 31, 1889. She is survived by her husband, a son, Everett; four sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Louise Hodges of Des Moines, Mrs. Laura Lane of Adel, Misses Anna and Alberta and Albert Weitz, who reside at the old home, and George Weitz who resides four miles east of the city. Mrs. Hollowell was a member of the Central Church of Christ, where she had been a faithful worker. Many deeds of charity and kindness reflect her true Christian character.
