Des MoinesJune Olive VanAken Lambert, 89, died peacefully in her sleep at Bishop Drumm Care Center in Johnston on December 30, 2007.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, January 3, 2008 at Iles Funeral Homes- Grandview Park Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Newton Union Cemetery in Newton.
June was born and raised in Des Moines where she graduated from Roosevelt High School. She married Earl Lambert, Jr. on September 12, 1937 and dedicated her life to making a home for her husband and six children . She enjoyed being part of the Brattleboro Avenue neighborhood and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
June is survived by six children, Sharon (Ed) Schierholz of Leesburg, FL, Bud (Judi) Lambert of Arvada, CO, Joy (Mike) Montalbano of Rockford, IL, Larry Lambert of Des Moines, John (Vicki) Lambert of Fort Morgan, CO and Mike (Heidi) Lambert of Altoona; 18 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Lambert, Jr. and three sisters.
Memorial contributions are being directed to Bishop Drumm Care Center
