Verladene Fay Mains, 73, of the 1200 block of 14th Street died of pneumonia Tuesday at home. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Sunset Funeral Chapel, with burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Mrs. Mains was born in Troy and had lived in Des Moines 46 years. She was a retired housekeeper with Marsden Building Maintenance and enjoyed country-western music, reading and watching westerns.

She is survived by her husband, Edwin six daughters, Glenda Kay Johnson of Altoona, Brenda Turner, Marla Turner and Peggy Headrick, all of Des Moines, Paula Turner of Indianola and Carol Van Langen of Urbandale four sons, Randy Duff of Altoona, Edwin Bruce Mains of Valparaiso, Ind., Michael Duff of Oskaloosa and Jonathan Mains of Des Moines three brothers, Lyle Hull and Lafayette Hull, both of Mount Ayr, and Larry Hull of Tingley 34 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral chapel.
