J. H. Houser, One of Polk County's Oldest Residents.

John H Houser, who passed away at his home near Polk City on March 25th, was one of Polk county's oldest residents. He had resided continuously in the community surrounding Polk for 58 years. He was a brother of J. A. Houser of Madrid.
Mr. Houser was born March 6, 1827, in Fairfield, O., and died at his home in Polk City on March 25, 1910, aged 83 years and 18 days. He was married in Ohio to Miss Nancy A Wagner on Aug. 12, 1849, and three years later they came to Iowa, locating near Polk City.
Eleven children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Houser, four of the number having preceded the father in death. All the children were at home with the aged wife and mother at the hour of dissolution. Besides the aged companion and children and grandchildren, the deceased is survived by two half brothers, J. A. Houser of Madrid and D. L. Houser of Boone.
A host of friends join in extending sincere sympathy to the bereaved relatives in their affliction.
