Leg Broken in Auto Wreck Christmas Day
David Lamb, Valley Junction, had car Wreck West of Colfax
David Lamb, of Valley Junction, had his leg broken and a bad cut in his head, when his car struck the guard rail on the curve just off the bridge west of Colfax Christmas Day.
Mr. Lamb had been to Colfax early Christmas morning to call on his father, and other relatives here, and visit the grave of his mother, and he was on his way home when the accident happened.
He ws brought immediately to the Colfax Sanitarium, where his wounds were dressed and the broken leg set, but later in the day he ws removed by ambulance to a Des Moines hospital so he might be nearer his family.
Latest reports from Mr. Lamb are that he is getting along nicely and that it will be but a matter of time before he is out again, unless complications set in.
The accident occured at the same point where many other accidents have happened, just west of Colfax, where a narrow bridge and an immediate turn in the pavement makes it difficult for those not familiar with the road to get by it safely.
The automobile was damaged considerably. ~ Newspaper unknown, but possibly the Newton Daily News, Colfax Clipper or the Des Moines Register.
