To Educate Blind Girl
~
Des Moines, Jan. 5. – A movement was started here for the support and education of the six-year-old daughter of Mrs. Stein, a poor washerwoman who lives at Knoxville. The child is afflicted as Linnie Haguewood, being both blind and death. She was examined at a sanitarium here to see if she couldn’t be cured of deafness, but her case was pronounced hopeless. The mother is very poor, but of good family and the state board of control finds there is no way the child can be cared for at the state institutions.
