REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE:

T. W. HAVENS
Was born in Livingston county, New York, on the 5th of March, 1835. Was educated at Geneva Wesleyan Seminary and Geneva College, in the same State. He commenced the practice of law, which profession he follow thirteen years, removing to Iowa in 1869. In the year 1870 he removed to his farm in Crocker township, Polk county, where he has since resided. He has been Justice of the Peace in said township for five successive years. He has the support of his neighbors, and has strong friends throughout the county, as is shown by the tenacity with which they fought for him in the convention.
