R. B. Huddleston Dies In New York; Burial at Laurens

Final rites were held Tuesday afternoon for a man who was nationally known in the fields of printing and the graphic arts.

He was Robert B. Huddleston, 47, advertising manager of the American Type Founders corporation, who died last Thursday evening at his home in New York City after an illness of about three months. His wife is the former Martha Hawley, daughter of Mrs. Henrietta Hawley of Laurens.

A funeral service was held Sunday at Universal chapel in New York, with Dr. Paul N. Otto of the Park Avenue Methodist church in charge. The body was then brought to Laurens for the service held at the McKee funeral home at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, at which the Rev. H. O. Ward officiated.

Pallbearers were C. A. Wessman, Dr. A. L. Sundberg, Dr. L. J. Taylor, Orville Hawley, Joe Roewe and Neil Maurer. Burial was in the Laurens cemetery.

Born in 1901

Robert Bovelle Huddleston was born July 4, 1901, at Hanford, Calif., and received most of his education in that state. He was graduated from the University of California at Berkeley, later attending law school at Yale University at New Haven, Conn. He was married July 9, 1929, to Martha Hawley of Laurens, at the Little Brown Church near Nashua.

Mr. Huddleston was formerly employed by the National Outdoor advertising company in New York, and for many years had been associated with the. American Type Founders corporation, a firm supplying graphic arts equipment throughout the United States and in several other countries. At the time of his death, he was advertising manager of the company, with headquarters in Elizabeth, N. J. Last year he was president of the Industrial Marketers of New Jersey.

Surviving is his wife; his mother, Mrs. M. E. Huddleston of Oakland, Calif.; and two brothers, Donald Huddleston of Oakland and Kenneth A. Huddleston of San Francisco.
