Irma Hinn dies January 28 at Hilltop Center

Irma Lucille Hinn passed away on Tuesday, January 28 at the Hilltop Care Center at the age of 95 years, 6 months and 8 days. Memorial services will be held in July for Mrs. Irma Lucille Mather Hinn was born July 20, 1907 in Laurens, the youngest daughter of Walter and Pearl Mather. Irma grew up in the Laurens and Marathon area. She graduated from St. Mary's Finishing School in Fairbault, Minnesota.

On July 3, 1927, Robert Maurice Hinn and Irma eloped and were united in marriage in Jackson, Minnesota. They raised their two children, Marney Lucille and John Mather Hinn in Laurens where they operated Hinn's Super Valu for over 37 years.

Morey died suddenly in October 1971 after 44 years of marriage. She was a member of Eastern Star.

She is survived by her daughter Marney, Mrs. Jim Norman of Primghar and son, John Hinn of Spirit Lake; six grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Morey, her parents, sisters, Grace Belden and Larie Wells and a granddaughter, Heidi Hinn.

Turner Funeral Home of Spirit Lake is in charge of arrangements.
