Funeral Services Held at Rolfe for O.B. Fuller
Smaller Crowd Than Usual at Rolfe Memorial Day Program Sunday

Funeral rites for O.B. Fuller Sr. were held at the Methodist church in Rolfe on Monday, May 31 at 2pm with the Rev. Charles Buckwalter officating. George Beckord, R.G. Hunter, Ed Rickard, Cliff Watts, Guy Eccles, and D.G. Butler served as pallbearers. Mrs. Grant Johnson sang the song accompanied by Mrs. N.J. Bixler. Burial was in the Clinton-Garfield cemetery.

Omer Bissop Fuller was born in East Gaines, Orleans county, NY Aug. 6, 1865 ninth son of Elizabeth Jamison and Stephen Bissop Fuller, who had married in 1843. The father, Stephen Bissop Fuller, was the lineal descendant of Dr. Stephan Bissop Fuller, who was the doctor on the
Mayflower. In 1868 Omer Fuller moved with the family to a farmn near Anamosa and it was there that he attended school and grew into manhood. In 1886 he was married to Mary Ellen Sherman and for the following five years engaged in farming. About 1890 a moved was made to a farm north of Bradgate, varied by a brief residence of a few months in Rolfe which was later to be his permanent home. Then after two years in the grocery business in Anamosa, which he conducted with his brother, Frank Fuller, he moved in 1898 to Rolfe and has lived here ever since. For the next decade he was engaged in the mercantile business, particularly in the sale of farm machinery, and during this period traveled through the United State, and particularly in the south.

From 1912 to 1930 he was employed as a rural mail carrier. After his retirement from active service in this he devoted his full time to his real estate interests in which he was active up to the time that his final illness prevented futher work.

During later years he served two terms on the school board and twice on the town council. In 1940 he was elected mayor of Rolfe, and retired from that office in 1942. After an illness of a little more than a year, he passed away in his home on May 29, 1943.

He is survived by his brother, Frank Fuller, of Marion, his widow, Mary Sherman Fuller, Dr. Florence Fuller White, Ruth Fuller Sergel and Omer B. Fuller Jr., and by six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Last Rites for Omer B Fuller at Local Church
Identified with Rolfe Interests for 40 years

Omer B Fuller, 78, who had figured prominently in the affairs of the Rolfe communityfor over 40 years, died at his home her Saturday, May 29, after an illness of a little more then a year. He had given of his time and interest by serving two terms on the local board of education, and twice on the town council. He was mayor of Rolfe for two years, retiring from that office shortly before his serious illness in 1942.

Funeral services in the Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Monday were conducted by the pastor, the Rev. Charles ?? Buckwater, who took for the subjecr of his sermon "We believe in God."

Two vocal solos, "The Old Rugged Cross" and "the home of the Soul'" were sung by Mrs. Grant Johnson accompanied at the pipe organ by Mrs.?. J. Bixler. flowere from out of town were Mr and Mrs E. W. Lusby, Algona; Hugh Fuller, Jesup; Elmer ?. Fuller, Jesup; F.J. Fuller, Marion; O.B. Fuller, Jesup; and Mr and Mrs Leo Fuller, Ottosen.
