Obituaries--Josie F. Kunath

Josie F. Kunath, 94, of LeMars, died Sunday, May 17, 1998, at Floyd Valley Hospital in LeMars.

The former Josie F. Osborne was born Oct. 17, 1903, in Seney, the daughter of John and Edith (Haverland) (sic--Haviland) Osborne. She married John Moritz Kunath on Jan. 14, 1925. He died in 1961.

She was a member of Seney United Methodist Church for over 50 years, and had lived in the Plymouth County, Iowa, area most of her life.

Survivors include a son, Lyle Kunath of LeMars; a nephew Earl Britton and his wife, Mary, of LeMars; a niece Erlynne Freriks and her husband, Bill, of Orange City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and three sisters.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars with the Rev. Dave Higdon officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery in LeMars. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today (Monday), with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars.

Pallbearers will be Lloyd Buss, Allan Smith, Arvel Morehead, Don Moir, Charles Rieke, and David Hawkins.
