Obituary--William F. Hodgson
William F. Hodgson, 84, Third Ave. SE, died Saturday (Feb. 24, 1973) at Brentwood Good Samaritan Center after a long illness. He has resided at the center the last three and a half years.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist church in LeMars with Rev. Milo Morris officiating.
Burial will be in LeMars Memorial cemetery under direction of the Mauer funeral home.
William Floyd Hodgson was born March 25, 1888, in Plymouth county, the son of the late Robert and Sarah (Bainbridge) Hodgson.
He married Sarah Allison Feb. 24, 1915, at rural LeMars.
Mr. Hodgson farmed in Stanton township until retiring to LeMars in 1946. He was a lifelong resident of the LeMars area.
Mr. Hodgson was a member of the United Methodist church.
Survivors are a son, Richard of rural LeMars; two brothers, George of Wessington Springs, S.D. and Robert of LeMars; a sister, Mrs. George (Ethel) Heckenlively of LeMars; three grandsons, Gerald and Terry Hodgson of LeMars and Rodney of Moville and a great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and his wife Sarah in April 1964.
